The Papillon Effect Project is a collection of painted plywood butterflies strategically placed in neighborhoods all over the city. It’s a butterfly release of grand proportions. Literally dozens of 4’ X 4’ plywood butterflies will be released around the 2018 Murals in the Market walking trail when the 2018 Murals in the Market Festival finishes this year. Festival participants have stepped up to become part of the Murals in the Market Festival this year by painting beautiful 4’ plywood butterflies.

Why Butterflies? Because they’re uplifting Transformational and Give a sense of hope. I like to create a positive environment for creative growth. Papllions are a great metaphor to see Detroit as a Papillon and all the possibilities it has to to reemerge!
